Turtlecreek Township lands $300M Walmart facility

(The Center Square) – Ohio landed a $300 million Walmart fulfillment center in Turtlecreek Township, a project that will create 300 jobs, the company said.
The center will focus on large items such as televisions and furniture.
“By expanding Walmart’s fulfillment capacity in the region and positioning inventory closer to customers, the facility will help Walmart deliver more items faster while supporting the continued growth of its next-day delivery network," the company said in a statement.
The center will be located in Encore Park and Turtlecreek Township, acccording to Jonathan D. Sams, Turtlecreek Township Trustee.
“This investment will bring new jobs, strengthen our local economy and build on the region’s strong access to major markets,” he said. “We appreciate the collaboration that made this project possible and look forward to Walmart becoming part of our community.”
“It is truly rewarding to see projects cross the finish line through strong public and private partnerships,” said Warren County Commissioner Dave Young. “We are grateful for Walmart’s investment in Warren County and the collaboration among Turtlecreek Township, Warren County, the state of Ohio, REDI Cincinnati and Core5 Industrial Partners that helped make it possible, and we look forward to continuing our partnership as Walmart launches operations at Encore Park.”
Walmart already has a fulfillment operation at 650 Gateway Boulevard in Monroe, which employs more than 200 people and will remain open, the company said.
