Nike’s decision to name Colin Kaepernick as the new face of its "Just Do It" campaign is, quite literally receiving a heated response.

Thousands of people have taken to social media since the announcement to say they will never wear Nike again.

Fox News reports videos and photos showed fans completely destroying their Nike-branded apparel, with some going as far as letting the gear go up in flames.

Kaepernick, who led player protests during the national anthem in the NFL tweeted a photo of himself with the slogan "Believe in something.

Even if it means sacrificing everything." Nike stock as of this morning took a three percent nosedive after the announcement.
