Every so often somebody in public life says something so honest it accidentally torches the argument they were trying to make. It doesn't happen because they slipped. It happens because, in the moment, they forgot they were supposed to be managing perceptions rather than describing reality. This week's entry comes from Oxford, England, home to one of the oldest and most storied debating societies on the planet, where the president of the Oxford Union said the quiet part out loud with a clarity her critics could never have manufactured for her.
