ICE looks for detention center in California to prepare for Trump deportations

Federal authorities are looking to open up a detention facility in California as President Donald Trump gets ready for his mass deportation plan.

In August, ICE requested information to identify additional detention bed space in the Golden State as border security started to ramp up for migrants who crossed the border illegally.

The additional bed space would help Trump and incoming border czar Tom Homan with their deportations, and since a federal court already blocked California’s effort to ban new federal immigrant detention centers, there’s virtually nothing the state can do about it.
