Mistakes doom Browns in season-opening dud against Ravens

BALTIMORE (AP) — The Browns made too many mistakes to have a chance in their season opener — and coach Kevin Stefanski's debut. Cleveland committed three turnovers, missed a field goal and an extra point in a 38-6 loss to the Baltimore Ravens. Quarterback Baker Mayfield threw an interception on Cleveland's first possession, but it was a drop by wide receiver Odell Beckham in the first half that may have been most costly. Beckham's drop was followed by kicker Austin Seibert's missed field goal and the Ravens scored late in the first half to go up 24-6. The Browns haven't won an opener since 2004.
