Clash of styles: Columbus, Toronto face off in short series

The best-of-five playoff qualifying series between the Toronto Maple Leafs and Columbus Blue Jackets is an intriguing clash of styles. The Leafs have flashy offensive stars who score lots of goals. The Blue Jackets counter with a smothering, body-banging defensive style designed to be disruptive to those kinds of teams. The series opens Sunday night in the playoff “bubble” in Toronto, which happens to be one of the two hub cities where the 24-team Stanley Cup tournament will play out. The season resumes after being halted because of the coronavirus on March 12.
