Bengals show another veteran the door, release RB Bernard

CINCINNATI (AP) — The Cincinnati Bengals have released veteran running back Giovani Bernard. He was a free agent who played his entire eight-year NFL career in Cincinnati. Bernard ended up as the starter in the backfield for the last 10 games of 2020 after Joe Mixon injured his foot. The Bengals under coach Zac Taylor have been showing veterans the door. The team released defensive tackle Geno Atkins after trading defensive end Carlos Dunlap last year. Both had been with the Bengals for 11 seasons. A.J. Green, who’d spent his entire 10-year career with the team, signed with Arizona.
