Police: Thousands of minks released after holes cut in Pennsylvania fur farm fence

SUNBURY, Pa. (AP) — Police say thousands of minks were released from a central Pennsylvania fur farm when someone cut holes in the surrounding fence. Officials at the Richard H. Stahl Sons Inc. farm say 6,000 to 8,000 minks were released early Sunday. Police say numerous state agencies and farm staff are trying to recover the animals. The Sunbury Animal Hospital posted a notice on its Facebook page Monday morning warning people not to approach the animals. Police have opened a criminal mischief investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact investigators.
