Timken: Q4 Earnings Snapshot

NORTH CANTON, Ohio (AP) _ Timken Co. (TKR) on Monday reported fourth-quarter profit of $97.2 million.

On a per-share basis, the North Canton, Ohio-based company said it had net income of $1.32. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, were $1.22 per share.

The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of six analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $1.09 per share.

The maker of bearings and power transmissions posted revenue of $1.08 billion in the period, which did not meet Street forecasts. Five analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $1.1 billion.

For the year, the company reported profit of $407.4 million, or $5.48 per share. Revenue was reported as $4.5 billion.

Timken expects full-year earnings in the range of $6.50 to $7.10 per share.
