Universal Pictures has canceled its plan to release “The Hunt,” billed as a satirical thriller about liberal “elites” hunting “deplorables” and Trump supporters for sport.

In a statement, Universal said while “we stand by our filmmakers…we understand that now is not the right time to release this film.”

The studio already had paused its marketing campaign for the R-rated movie, which was slated for release on Sept. 27.

President Trump criticized Hollywood on Friday and called out the movie, saying it was meant to “inflame and cause chaos.”
