Danny Gokey recently released the official music video for ‘Sound Of Heaven,’ which is climbing the charts with its incredible message and uplifting beat. Danny Gokey became a household name when he participated in season eight of ‘American Idol,’ but that’s not what we love him for. We adore his uplifting, Gospel-centered music, which brings a breath of fresh air to the airwaves. 

He recently released his fifth album which includes the song, ‘Sound Of Heaven.’ The song is one you can’t help but feel like everything is going to be all right and today is going to be a great day.

This Dove-award-winning artist shares a message of trading our pain to see life through the lens of our Savior. We can trade our worries to sing a new song for the Lord.

This powerful message is paired with an upbeat, funky, and fresh music video that is an absolute delight to watch. When he was asked about the main message of the song, Danny said, “When we think of heaven, it’s going to be a very diverse place. The scriptures say every nation, every tribe, every tongue will be around the throne. Sound of Heaven encapsulates all the diverse and different sides of me. We have praise, worship, Christian contemporary, Latin, and Afro beats. There’s something for everybody on this record.”

This video release is timed perfectly for the start of High School and College football programs across the US. Think of all the football players that are hitting the field this year with dreams of making “The” touchdown and giving thanks for the support and opportunities that brought them to that point. In this video, a high school football player describes how his team’s senior year is going to be incredible and how he prays when he scores. He is playing for his mama who passed away when she was 38 years old. She prayed for him each time he hit the field. His season is successful and he signs a college scholarship so he can continue to pray to God when he scores and to play for his mama. Glen Shelton is a Central Virginian native and attended Liberty University, majoring in Health & Physical Education. Returning to his alma mater, he was the first ever to perform the National Anthem at an opening football game for Liberty. Right from the start, Riley Clemmons is seen with a band in a dimly lit room. There is authenticity, and she vulnerably sings about our hard times in life and how God knows the tears that we cry.

The chorus sings out:

‘When you weep, 

He's there weeping with you

Jesus cries too’

The tone painting on this song is incredible. There are such unexpected vocal moments. It invites you to pour out your heart and cry out your tears when you are hurting and confused. Riley sings out and invites you to be honest and open with your Savior. Life is hard, and it is great to have music that invites our emotions to the cross of Christ. 

Her singing is an outcry to the Lord and is beautifully done. The simplicity of this music video matches the simplicity of the song. It is the shortest verse in Scripture but one of the most profound. There is great depth in the fact that our God, our Savior, wept. Jesus cried because He came into this world to fully take on the suffering of all of humanity. He did not enjoy the death of loved ones like Lazarus, and He was perfectly human and perfectly God. 

As we listen to this song and reflect on our own hardships and tears, Riley reminds us to rest in the truth that Jesus is there weeping with us. He empathizes with our sorrow, loss, hurt, and confusion. He welcomes our pain and questions and sits with us in our tears. In fact, Scripture tells us that He catches every tear that we have in His bottle. (Psalm 56:8) He cares for you personally and what is going on, and He loves His children.

A young woman’s beautiful cover of the popular praise and worship song “Lord, I Need You” will touch your heart.

This world will try and test your patience and push you to your breaking point. Situations and circumstances will leave you battered and bruised, leaving scars in their wake that serve as reminders. Times will arise that will pull, stretch and test your faith.

Life can be a challenging and brutal experience, leaving even the most mentally and physically tough person shattered and broken. Sadly, there are people who, every day, try to make it through by their own power and sheer force of will. This attitude and course of action is a recipe for disaster and destruction.

God will and does offer His love, guidance and protection. But before that can happen, we must realize that we are incredibly limited and unable to do much alone. We would fall apart if not for Him. Even those who have long been committed followers of Jesus Christ still need God’s touch and protection.

In a clip posted on YouTube, one young woman gives a superb performance of “Lord, I Need You.” It’s a beautiful tune about surrendering everything to Him and laying all cares, worries, burdens and concerns at His feet.

The song’s lovely chorus, simple but highly effective and memorable, emphasizes how much we need God in control of every aspect of our lives.

Situations in life will weigh you down, both physically and mentally. There is simply no way of handling all the cares and worries that come with life alone. But there is one who wants our burdens. We can give everything to Him, and He will work in those situations and circumstances.

Matthew 11:28 “Come to me, all you who are troubled and weighted down with care, and I will give you rest.”

At the start of this video, the father shares an encouraging message of hope that even in an uncertain world of trials, God is still on the throne. He and his wife have six beautiful children. Five are seen standing next to him, and the youngest one is sitting with his mother at the piano.  

The wife begins to play the piano, and the dad starts to sing the first verse. The children anticipate their time to join in singing. They smile as their dad leads. The family all join in during the chorus. Their harmonies and youthful voices bring a smile to anyone’s face. It is precious to watch the younger boys trying to sing into their personal microphones. The comedy keeps on coming. All are clothed professionally in their “Sunday best” and try their best to be attentive and focused.

Hearing this young family sing out the truth that salvation is secure in Jesus and He is still reigning fills us with hope. You will be excited to hear what they will do next and watch these kids perform. The little girl is the only daughter and shines bright, singing out. All of the boys are little gentlemen. 

The verses are inspiring that even in the hardships when we are oppressed by the work of the enemy, we have the hope of Christ in us. We can overcome the most challenging obstacles. Seeing the next generation sing out about the faithfulness of God reminds us of His continued goodness. He reveals Himself to young people and old. He is worthy of glory in every generation. Watching this family lead us in glorifying the Lord gives us great joy, plus the comedy from the youngest performers is priceless.

The woman singing in the video has such a beautiful voice, and the man singing along with her adds different harmonies that really elevate the song. They sound wonderful together, and it is a joy to hear them sing from their heart and glorify God with their voices. What a beautiful cover of this wonderful song!

The story behind the song ‘The Goodness of God’ and how it came to be is also beautiful. Jenn Johnson of Bethel Music shared about the adoption process of their son, Ryder, and how that influenced her to write this song.

“During the adoption process, I found myself driving on a long country road. I was just singing to the Lord when I recorded a song on my phone about the ‘faithfulness’ and ‘kindness of God.’ I wrote and sang most of ‘Goodness of God’ as an overflow of my heart at that moment,” she said.

This is one song that has encouraged and uplifted people when they hear it. It is a great reminder of how God runs after us to cover us and shower us with his goodness and faithfulness. He is our rock and strong foundation, and we can sing His praises for the rest of our days.
