3x GRAMMY® winner, 16x Stellar Award winner and Billboard’s Gospel Artist of the Decade Tasha Cobbs Leonard releases her expansive new live album TASHA UNSCRIPTED today via Motown Gospel/Capitol Christian Music Group. Recorded before a live audience in Atlanta, the 34-track collection brings Cobbs Leonard back to the setting where so many of her defining moments have taken shape, revisiting more than a decade of music while leaving space for new arrangements, unexpected collaborations and spontaneous worship to unfold in real time.

Originally conceived with a “mic toss” spirit, the recording brought together a wide community of artists, friends and collaborators. Across the album, Cobbs Leonard is joined by Mickey Guyton, Jonathan McReynolds, Karen Clark Sheard, Kierra Sheard, Israel Houghton, William Murphy, Le’Andria Johnson, Travis Greene, Dante Bowe, Melvin Crispell III, Lisa Knowles-Smith, Jonathan Nelson and more.

The album arrives on the same day Cobbs Leonard takes that spirit on the road. Her UNSCRIPTED NIGHTS TOUR kicks off tonight in Charlotte, NC, where the opening show is sold out, beginning a multi-city run built around the idea that no two evenings should unfold exactly the same way. The tour continues through Brunswick, Atlanta, Washington, D.C., New York, Dallas and Raleigh, bringing the spirit of the album directly into intimate rooms around the country. Current routing runs through September 26.

Rather than recreating a traditional set night after night, UNSCRIPTED NIGHTS is designed to preserve the freedom of the live recording. That philosophy sits at the heart of TASHA UNSCRIPTED. Following 2025’s TASHA, her first-ever studio album after more than a decade of landmark live projects, Cobbs Leonard felt drawn back to the communal environment that has long been central to her artistry.

“There’s a freedom that happens when you stop trying to control every moment and just make room for what’s supposed to happen,” says Cobbs Leonard. “That’s what this album became for me. These are songs people have lived with for years, but we were able to come back to them with new life, new voices and a room full of people who helped take them somewhere we couldn’t have planned.”

The breadth of TASHA UNSCRIPTED allows some of Cobbs Leonard’s most enduring songs to take on entirely new lives. William Murphy joins her on “Break Every Chain,” while Jonathan McReynolds steps into “For Your Glory.” Mickey Guyton appears on “The Church I Grew Up In,” Kierra Sheard joins “Fill Me Up,” and Karen Clark Sheard lends her voice to “Put A Praise On It / Hallelujah.” Among the album’s most stirring moments is “You Know My Name (Live)” featuring Le’Andria Johnson, released last week alongside an emotional official live video.

Today’s release continues a milestone season for Cobbs Leonard. She recently received the prestigious Aretha Franklin Icon Award at the 41st Stellar Gospel Music Awards, recognizing her extraordinary career and lasting contributions to gospel music. During the national BET broadcast, Cobbs Leonard was celebrated with a career-spanning video package followed by a tribute medley made entirely from her catalog. Melvin Crispell III performed “For Your Glory,” Maranda Curtis delivered “Fill Me Up,” Bishop William Murphy took on “Break Every Chain,” and Kierra Sheard performed “Put A Praise On It.” The four artists then came together for an electrifying praise break before Cobbs Leonard took the stage for an emotional acceptance speech.

Adding to the momentum, Cobbs Leonard has now been announced as a performer at the 57th Annual GMA Dove Awards, joining the first round of performers revealed for Christian and Gospel music’s biggest night. The ceremony will take place October 6 at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena, with the broadcast airing October 9 on TBN and the TBN+ app. Cobbs Leonard heads into this year’s ceremony with three nominations, adding to a career that already includes 15 Dove Awards.

The TASHA UNSCRIPTED era also expands beyond music. At select stops on the UNSCRIPTED NIGHTS TOUR, Cobbs Leonard will incorporate Club 360, her fitness and wellness community built around making movement feel welcoming and accessible. The experiences bring another dimension of her life on the road, connecting the physical wellness work she has increasingly made part of her platform with the music, faith and community audiences have long known her for.

Named Billboard’s Gospel Artist of the Decade, Cobbs Leonard has amassed more than 5 billion career streams while earning 3 GRAMMY Awards, 16 Stellar Awards, 15 Dove Awards, three Billboard Music Awards and an NAACP Image Award. Her 2025 album TASHA debuted at #1 across multiple Billboard gospel charts, earned two 2026 GRAMMY nominations and produced the #1 Gospel Airplay collaboration “Church” featuring John Legend.
