NEW YORK (AP) — The science fiction/fantasy genre has been admitted into a special club.
Houghton Mifflin Harcourt announced Friday that it has added science fiction and fantasy to its popular Best American series. It's the longtime publisher of annual anthologies of everything from short stories to travel writing,
"The Best American Science Fiction and Fantasy" will launch in 2015. John Joseph Adams has presided over numerous science fiction/fantasy anthologies and will be the ongoing series editor. Best-selling author and son of Stephen King Joe Hill will be the first guest editor.
John Updike, Elizabeth Gilbert and James Ellroy are among the many writers who have served as editors for the Best American series.
