Ohio gas prices up to start work week

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Ohio motorists are seeing higher gas prices to start the work week.

The state average for a gallon of regular gas was $2.33 in Monday's survey from auto club AAA, the Oil Price Information Service and WEX Inc. That's up 12 cents from a week ago but $1.19 less than last year at this time.

Ohio prices were less than the national average, which was $2.42 per gallon Monday. That's unchanged from a week ago and $1.10 less than a year ago at this time.

Among Ohio's metropolitan areas, Akron and Toledo had the lowest average Monday at $2.31 per gallon.
