EDON, Ohio (AP) — Authorities are investigating a single-engine plane crash in northwest Ohio that injured one person.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol says 46-year-old Samuel Santa-Rita of Edon was taking off in the plane from a private airfield Monday. During takeoff, the aircraft turned, lost altitude and crashed into a wooded area. The plane went down shortly after noon Monday in Edon in Williams County.
Santa-Rita was the only person in the plane. Officials say he suffered minor injuries and sought his own treatment.
The crash remains under investigation by the Federal Aviation Administration.
