The defense attorney says he tried to persuade a prosecution committee not to seek the death penalty for 36-year-old Michael Madison, who has pleaded not guilty.
SANDUSKY, Ohio (AP) — Testimony is underway in the trial of a man suspected of strangling a northern Ohio woman and her two children in September of 2012. The Sandusky Register reports police officers and friends of the woman testified yesterday at the trial of 42-year-old Curtis Clinton, who has pleaded not guilty.
COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Attorneys for the state say there's no need for the Ohio Supreme Court to rush its consideration of a lawsuit over Medicaid expansion. Two anti-abortion groups and six Republican lawmakers are suing Ohio after a legislative panel cleared the way for Governor John Kasich's (KAY'-siks) administration to spend federal dollars to cover more people in the Medicaid health program.
CLEVELAND (AP) — Akron's minor league team is no longer the Aeros, they're now the RubberDucks. The Double-A affiliate for the Cleveland Indians announced the new nickname yesterday. Team owner Ken Babby said the RubberDucks nickname and logo are designed to "honor the history of Akron and the rubber industry while creating a new identity that was fun, exciting, and family-friendly."
